Astrophysical cloaking of a naked singularity

Abstract A massive naked singularity would be cloaked by accreted matter, and thus may appear to a distant observer as an opaque (quasi-)spherical surface of fluid, not unlike that star or planet. We present here analytical solutions for levitating atmospheres around wide class spherically symmetric singularities. Such atmosphere can constructed in every spacetime which possesses zero-gravity radius is solution (modified-)gravity theory possessing the usual conservation laws matter. Its density peaks at atmospheric fluid supported against infall onto gravity alone. In astrophysical context, formed very short time accretion ambient matter singularity—in millisecond X-ray binary, thousand seconds traversing interstellar space, years central engine AGN.
